What each stage actually does
Press play. Every line is derived from the loaded record at the moment its stage runs — nothing is staged. A stage that holds nothing says so, which is usually the most useful frame in the sequence.
No client loaded
The replay derives from a record. Without one it runs against nothing — which is honest, and looks like a fault. Load a client and the stages fill with that client’s facts.
Running it empty is worth thirty seconds: it shows what the system says when it has nothing, which is the behaviour most tools get wrong.
